CITY & ESSEX AWARDED LIBERTY LONDON CONTRACT

The iconic department store Liberty London selects City & Essex as it's full Cleaning Service provider.

We are delighted to announce the commencement of our cleaning services at the glamorous Liberty London store on Great Marlborough Street.

The contract encompasses a wide range of spaces including the shop floor, Cafe, back of house and Office space spanning 120,000 square feet. The contract will also include window cleaning, washroom services, waste management and specialist floor and atrium maintenance.

Liberty London was first established in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty, who wanted to launch a homeware and fashion store specialising in exporting ornaments, fabrics and art from across the British Empire to London.

The Tudor-revival style building that is so strongly associated with the Liberty London brand was constructed and furnished in 1924 using wood from HMS Hindustan and HMS Impregnable.

The weathervane on top of the store (shown below) bears a model of the Mayflower, the ship that brought the Pilgrims to America.

Over the years, Liberty London have had huge success through fashion collaborations with the likes of Nike, Mary Quant, Yves Saint Laurent, Hermès, Marc Jacobs and Dr.Marten's to name just a few.

Today Liberty London sells a wide range of luxury apparel, accessories, beauty products, homeware and exclusive trend-setting pattern designs.

Ian Hookway, Managing Director had this to say about this exciting new contract:

"As one of the countries most iconic department stores, Liberty London expects nothing but the highest of standards to match it's high fashion reputation. City & Essex were extremely honoured to have been selected to provide it's bespoke services and looks forward to a long term partnership."
