City & Essex is proud to announce the major contract win of the iconic skyscraper - One Canada Square.

One Canada Square was the first tower to rise out of the docks in 1990. At 770ft above ground level containing 50 floors and topped with a pyramid, it held the title of the UK's tallest building from 1990-2010.

Around 105,0000 people work in Canary Wharf and is home to some of the largest banking groups in the world.

Canary Wharf takes its name from the sea trade with the Mediterranean and Canary islands, whose name originates from the Latin ‘canis’ meaning dogs.

The disused Docklands site, formed by a loop in the Thames, was turned into a second financial district to rival the City of London after 1987. 

The appointment sees over 40 full time cleaners maintaining the communal spaces on site. This will be managed by a full time Site Manager and supported by full time day and night managers and supervisors.

One Canada Square's 50 floors contain 250 sets of toilets which need to be cleaned daily and checked 4 times a day by our team of Janitors.

To ensure a consistently high level of cleaning on such a large scale, the site will benefit from an exciting new innovation to help maintain employee schedules and alert them of emergencies, using the smartphone based system - Smart Task. 

Another addition will be the new Rubbermaid trolleys that will provide a professional and efficient addition to our image on such a prestigious site.
