We can hardly believe it has already been a week since the City & Essex team attended the annual Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA) luncheon at the iconic Savoy Hotel.
It was an excellent afternoon spent reconnecting with industry colleagues, building new relationships, and celebrating the very best of the cleaning and facilities management sector. Events like these are a valuable reminder of the strength, resilience, and collaborative spirit within our industry.
One of the most impactful moments of the day was hearing from Martine Wright MBE. Her story was both moving and inspiring, highlighting how even the most challenging circumstances can lead to remarkable achievements. Her journey from the events of 7/7 to representing Great Britain at the Paralympics left a lasting impression on everyone in the room.
The afternoon also featured entertainment from comedian Hal Cruttenden, who kept the audience thoroughly engaged with his humour. Fortunately, much of his focus was directed towards the front row, sparing the rest of us from being in the spotlight.
Importantly, the event also raised an impressive £11,711 for Catch22, a charity dedicated to supporting young people facing barriers to employment by helping them develop the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed.
We would like to extend our thanks to the CSSA for organising such a well-run and memorable event. We look forward to continuing our support for initiatives that bring the industry together while making a positive social impact.
