Breaking the Cycle of Financial Stress

Money worries can have a massive impact on our overall mental health, and with the rising cost of living, many cannot cover essentials, creating a cycle of stress and anxiety. In response to these challenges, City & Essex partnered with Wagestream, an innovative tool designed to empower the financial well-being of our people.

Wagestream offers real-time earnings tracking, financial coaching and instant insights into their financial standing. Breaking away from traditional pay cycles, employees can monitor their earnings whenever needed.

A standout feature is the flexibility Wagestream provides. Employees now have the option to make wage withdrawals ahead of the payday, eliminating the wait for monthly or bi-weekly pay checks. This immediate access not only addresses urgent financial needs but also reduces reliance on high-interest loans or credit cards, alleviating financial strain.

We are thrilled to share that since the implementation of Wagestream in March 2023, an average of 200 colleagues engage with the platform monthly, and a total of £200,000 in transfers have been processed.
